<strong>Courtney van Wirdum</strong>
Courtney van WirdumCandance Adjudicator
Courtney van Wirdum is originally from Toronto and now resides in Los Angeles, California. She graduated in 2011 with a BFA in Performance Dance from Ryerson University and is an A.D.A.P.T certified dance teacher and a talented young choreographer. She can be seen dancing in Disney: ZOMBIES, The Greatest Showman Live commercial, American national commercials for Coca Cola and Mystic Lake Casino. Courtney also performed as supporting lead “Emma” in feature film ‘Full Out’ broadcasted on Netflix and Disney Channel worldwide.  She currently is lead dancer and dance captain for touring show “Return To Grace”. Courtney is thrilled to be adjudicating for Candance with hopes to inspire young dancers across North America to continue pursuing their dreams as artists and performers.
<strong>Joe Celej</strong>

Joe Celej, Associate Director of METdance, is a New York City based creative artist whose career spans fifteen years of professional concert dance performance, choreographic investigation, and passionate instruction and mentoring of students. Joe performed for over eight years with the New York City based and internationally touring/acclaimed concert company Elisa Monte Dance. As a senior company member and soloist, Joe performed extensively throughout the US (including multiple Joyce seasons) and Europe with EMD, most notably meeting and performing for the Duke and Duchess of Luxembourg. Through the EMD choreographic initiative, Joe enjoyed collaborating and creating six works for the company, and was honored to have his Joyce Theater choreographic premiere in 2011.
<strong>Rachael Markarian</strong>

Rachael, from Los Angeles, has worked in the entertainment industry as a dancer, teacher and choreographer in both NYC & LA for over 13 years. She has taught on Conventions, and has travelled both domestically and internationally teaching Master Classes and Choreographing. Rachael has been fortunate enough to in all areas of the entertainment industry, from touring the world with today’s top artists, to dancing in film, commercials, TV, music videos, industrials, theatre and choreographing for companies such as Wella & Sebastian. She’s also been fortunate enough to dance in two Super Bowl Halftime Shows, with both Beyonce and Katy Perry. Rachael has a clear understanding of what it takes to be a professional, working in the entertainment industry. Sharing her experiences is what inspires her to teach and give back to the next generation of artists!
<strong>Michael Susten</strong>
Michael SustenCandance Adjudicator
Michael Susten is a New York City based choreographer and dance educator. He graduated from the University of the Arts in 2010 with a BFA in Jazz Dance Performance with a focus in Choreography. He is currently on staff at Broadway Dance Center, The Joffrey Ballet School and STEPS on Broadway. He as also had the privilege of being a guest teacher at Point Park University, The University of Pennsylvania and Dean College as well as numerous performing arts High Schools.  As a choreographer, Michaels work has been showcased in the Philly Fringe Festival, APAP Showcase, Pushing Progress Showcase, Koresh Artist Showcase and the Choreographers Canvas. As a performer Michael was a dancer for Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida for five years and had the chance to perform in the Festival of the Lion King and Main Streets Welcome and Trolley show. Michael is currently traveling around the country teaching, choreographing and adjudicating the next generation of dancers and hoping to instill a strong foundation of respect and love for dance. 
<strong>Amanda Cleghorn</strong>
Amanda CleghornCandance Adjudicator
Amanda Cleghorn is a well-rounded dancer, teacher, choreographer, and, overall, performer. Her credits include movies, Camp Rock 2, Make Your Move 3D, ABC’s Desperately Seeking Santa, and Honey and tv shows, Glee, The Goldbergs, The L.A. Complex, Canada’s Got Talent and Nikita. Most notably, Amanda appeared on SYTYCDC Season 3, finishing as Canada’s favourite female dancer. She performed on Dancing With the Stars for the promo of the movie Rock of Ages choreographed by Mia Michaels, as a dancer on Xfactor and performed with James Corden for Toyota choreographed by Mandy Moore. Amanda has performed in Stacey Tookey’s show Moment’s Defined as a dancer in Still Motion Dance Company and performed with the company at Jacobs Pillow in Massachusetts. She was featured as the lead female in Hedley’s Kiss You Inside Out music video, danced in the Oscar promo with Ellen Degeneres and in commercials with Dove, Garnier, Mentos and Playtex. She also played the female lead on ABCSpark called Rise and danced in the opening for the TV Land Awards with Terry Crews. Amanda toured the world with Taylor Swift on the RED tour choreographed by Tyce Diorio, performing on the Grammy’s, Billboards, NBC’s Macy’s July 4th Special, the CMT Awards, American Music Awards and the Brit Awards and is seen in Taylor’s 22, Red and Shake It Off music videos. Amanda performed on America’s Greatest Hits with Kelsi Ballerini and was a dancer in the feature film Popstar produced by Judd Apatow, featuring the incredible Andy Samberg. Amanda’s latest projects include working as a featured dancer on the hit television show Lip Sync Battle, Disney Channel Bizaardvark, on Season 25 of Dancing With the Stars, as well as on the Creative Emmy Awards. Amanda most recently had an acting role on the hit CW television show Crazy Ex Girlfriend, she was Suzanne in the Hallmark Channel movie A Nutcracker Christmas and was a dancer in the new upcoming remake of the feature film Valley Girl. She looks forward to continuing her career in dance, film and television.
<strong>Amber Perkins</strong>
Amber PerkinsCandance Adjudicator
Amber Perkins is the owner of the nationally distinguished Amber Perkins School of the Arts and founder and Artistic Director of the Phoenix Project Dance. Ms. Perkins has won many choreography awards, including the prestigious Elan Award, presented annually by Dance Spirit Magazine and Capezio. Amber received her BFA in Dance from the University of the Arts and her BS in Economics. Amber performed with the Danscore Company as a principle dancer for three years. As a choreographer, Amber has worked with various companies and dance institutions across the United States and Canada, including Williams/Henry Dance in Kansas City.
<strong>Kelby Brown</strong>
Kelby BrownCandance Adjudicator
Kelby Brown, is an American born dancer, choreographer, teacher and adjudicator from St. Louis, Missouri. He received his early training at the Pelagie Green Wren Academy of Dance, as well as Alexandra School of Ballet. He went on to study at Walnut Hill School of the Arts. Kelby received a full scholarship to continue his professional training at the School of American Ballet, the official School of the New York City Ballet, known as SAB. He has appeared on So You Think You Can Dance, dancing alongside Lady Gaga. He also assisted Emmy Nominee Choreographer, Stacey Tookey and Emmy Award Winning, Choreographer, Mia Michaels on So You Think You Can Dance. Kelby graced the big screen dancing in, “The Dance Flick”, “Transformers 2”, Showtime’s Television Series, “WEEDS” as well as the hit TV show, “GOSSIP GIRL”, dancing by the side of Blake Lively. Kelby continues to teach and inspire, nationally and internationally and is noted as a memorable influence in the dance community.
<strong>Melanie Benz</strong>

Born and raised in Miami, Florida Melanie begin dancing at the tender age of 4 and trained technically in all forms of dance . The acting bug hit her at age 9 and she landed 20 national commercials under her belt. She continued her dance training in Miami under the famed choreographer Mia Michaels and became an NBA dancer for the Miami Heat. She moved to LA and booked multiple tours traveling the world with Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake and P!NK. She also danced on numerous videos and award shows for Brtiney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Jay-Z, Will Smith, Usher, Destiny’s Child, Tina turner, NSYNC, and Mariah Carey just to name a few. She’s also appeared on the big screen in Charlie’s Angels II, The Hot Chick, Malibu’s Most Wanted, from Justin to Kelly, The hit movie The Lincoln lawyer next to Matthew McConaughey and a Guest-starring role on NBC’s the Taxi Brooklyn. Melanie was the assistant choreographer to Tyce Diorio for Taylor Swift on her sold out tour The Red Tour. Incredibly passionate, Melanie continues to spread her love of performing and positivity around the country to inspire young dancers, actors, and singers to dream big and embrace their uniqueness!
<strong>Herman Payne</strong>

Juilliard graduate in Ballet, Herman Payne has appeared in a number of theatrical productions. A few of such include: the Aspen Ballet Company; the Second National tour and the International tours of Ann Reinking’s Tony Award winning show “Fosse”, choreographed and directed by Debra McWaters; the International tour of West Side Story, under the Direction of Joey McKneely; 9 to 5 on Broadway, choreographed by Tony Award winning Andy Blankenbuehler; The New York City Center Encore’s productions of The Wiz, choreographed by Tony Award winning, Andy Blankenbuehler; House of Flowers choreographed by Tony award winning Kathleen Marshall; Pajama Game, choreographed By Tony Award winning JOHN CARRAFA; THE ID of BOB, directed by HINTON BATTLE; and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, choreographed by LINDA HABERMAN, where Herman worked for 14 years (2000 – 2013).In addition to Herman’s copious theatrical work on Broadway, internationally and with the Rockettes, he has spent many hours working in a completely different language of dance. He has performed in; Michael Jackson’s 30th Anniversary Special; with Mariah Carey, Usher, Mya, Destiny’s Child, Whitney Houston, Deborah Cox, Thalia, Tony Moran, Lisa Lisa, Kevin Aviance, Love INC., and Camp LO, among others. Herman is currently the CO artistic director of the prestigious Broadway Theatre Project and is also a faculty Member of the world renowned Miami City Ballet .
<strong>Clyde Alves</strong>

Clyde Alves has enjoyed a career in performing and teaching across the world for the last 20 years. His training began in Mississauga, Ontario Canada in Tap, Jazz, ballet and acrobatics. During his studies he also attended the National Ballet School of Canada. His professional Musical Theatre career began early when he was cast in the Toronto production of Beauty and the Beast. It soon turned to New York City, where he has worked on Broadway in shows such as The Music Man (Astaire Award Winner), Oklahoma!, Hairspray, Wicked,  Anything Goes, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Bullets Over Broadway and recently starring as Ozzie in the acclaimed Broadway revival of On The Town (Astaire Award nomination). He reprised his performance in The Music Man on T.V. in ABC’s Movie Of The Week. Clyde most recently starred as Bobby Child in Crazy For You at the Drury Lane Theatre in Chicago, Illinois and won the Hellen Hayes Award for his portrayal of Bill Calhoun in Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Kiss Me Kate in Washington, DC. Clyde resides in New York with his wife and son where he continues to enjoy life as a father, husband and Song and Dance Man.

Sandy SlempCandance Adjudicator
Sandy Slemp comes to us with over 35 years of experience as a dance teacher and choreographer. Sandy was the owner/operator of The Dance Factory located in Calgary, Alberta for 27 years. She is a fully qualified teacher with the ADAPT Syllabus and is an examiner travelling all corners of Canada examining 100’s of students each year. Sandy is the Past President of the Wild Rose Dance Arts Association (Calgary). Growing up she received all her formal training in Calgary, training in Tap-Jazz-Ballet-Musical Theatre-Lyrical-Contemporary. Since 2013 Sandy melted the world of dance and the world of travel where she now works as an Independent Group Travel Advisor for Destinations by Design TPI. Specializing in studio group travel. Her positive and upbeat teaching style makes her an excellent motivator and mentor. As a teacher, Sandy understands how much time, effort and dedication the teachers, students and parents have put into preparing the dancers for the competitive season. In addition to teaching for many years, Sandy adjudicates at numerous dance competitions each season across the country. Sandy wishes all the participants follow your heart and dreams and dance BIG!
Kahlil Calder

As a professional dancer, I had the opportunity to experience the art of dance in its various forms and formats throughout the world. What I bring to my work as a dance educator is a broad perspective on the world dance scene while still being able to focus in on whichever idiom I am working. My aim is to cultivate and nurture young people through the art of dance, and I do this with great passion and care. I was educated at The National Ballet School of Canada and professional performance highlights are currently International Dance Theater-“Zonnekonigen“ Amsterdam, and prior – Netherlands, German television Ballet – Berlin (various television programs – Germany), A Few Good Men Dancing Tour – Netherlands, The Lion King – Toronto, Canada, Cirque du Soleil, Mystere – Las Vegas. Teaching and choreography highlights- Guest teacher Lucia Marthas Academy-Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Magic-Art Trapeze, Montreal, Canada (Staging, Direction, Choreography, Dancing), Cirque du Soleil company training, Las Vegas, Nevada,USA, Harry Jerome Award – Outstanding Artistic Achievement – Toronto, Canada. Lori Cacciotti

Lori has over 20 years of experience dancing, teaching, choreographing and adjudicating. She is a full member of Dance Educators of America and the Canadian Dance Masters Association. Lori is the Artistic Director and Owner for over 20 years at Happiness is…Dancing Studio in Sudbury, Ontario. Lori’s award-winning choreography has been showcased at many competitions and festivals throughout North America. Lori continues to stay up-to-date yearly attending teacher conventions, tap festivals and workshops. Lori has taught workshops, summer schools and master classes across Canada. Some of her students have gone on to dance with the National, Winnipeg and Quinte Ballet Schools. Many of her students have continued success with some winning National Titles. Another student of Lori’s was awarded first place at the World Tap Championship in Risa, Germany. Lori is an accomplished and sought-after adjudicator, judging competitions across Canada and the United States annually. Lori is excited to see the talent across North America each year she judges and is proud to offer her positive critique to the many amazing dancers.
Jermaine Rembert

Jermaine R. Rembert- credits include: The Goodspeed’s premier of My Paris(The Story of Toulouse-Lautrec), New York City Center premier of The Bandwagon, Dance captain and Associate Choreographer for Broadway and National touring Companies of “Memphis,” Assistant Director for Midtown International Theatre Festival in NYC of “Motel Rasdell,” and choreographer and teacher at Sun Valley Ballet School in Sun Valley, Idaho. Performance credits include: Film/Television as well as the Broadway productions of Memphis, La Cage aux Follies, Oklahoma, Swing, All Shook Up, On the Twentieth Century, Funny Girl and Lindy Hop feature in Chance & Chemistry. Other credits include The Radio City Christmas Spectacular(NYC), Will Rogers Follies(Gateway Playhouse), Camelot(Lincoln Center w/ NY Philharmonic), and a member of Columbia City Ballet in Columbia, South Carolina.
Kelly Gifford

Kelly Gifford has been teaching dance for 25 years. After completing her dance training she continued her post-secondary studies in performing arts at Randolph School of the Arts. During that time she worked in the industry performing in live shows, film and television. Kelly decided to further her education and extend her love of dance and performance to younger children. She graduated with honors as a certified Early Childhood Educator. She is a certified Tap and Jazz teacher with Dance Masters of America and with A.D.A.P.T. Her choreography has won many prestigious awards and titles such as “Dancer most likely to succeed in a professional career”. She has adjudicated at many large dance competitions across Canada. Kelly has integrated her fitness training into her dance instruction, developing a specialized conditioning program for dancers. Along with dance, Kelly has a passion for drama and musical theater. She has produced, directed and choreographed 15 musicals to date. Many of Kelly’s students have gone on to have successful professional careers in both Canada and the United States. Some of her student’s credits include: Broadway – Jesus Christ Superstar Performing with Janet Jackson, Brian McKnight, and Britney Spears Stage productions of Dirty Dancing, Tap Dogs, Cats, Rock of Ages Film and Television – Once Upon A Mattress (Carol Burnett), Luna Petunia, En Vogue Christmas, The Gabby Douglas Story Awards – Young Artist Award Winner for Best Performance in a Voice Over Role (2017)

<strong>Fred Knecht</strong>
Fred KnechtCandance Adjudicator
Mr Knecht has been a dance educator for more than forty years, serving as a master teacher, school owner and world respected artist. Mr Knecht has served as a faculty member for the Dance Masters of America and the Dance Teachers club of Boston’s Teacher’s Training Programs. He has served as a master dance teacher for every major dance organization across the US and Canada, including Dance Works in London, Dance Educators of America, International Dance Teachers Association and every DMA Chapter. Mr Knecht trained the original Annie on Broadway, along with then of the orphans in the show. He was the recipient of ADA’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999 and the New England Chapter of Dance Masters of America honoured Mr Knecht with outstanding contribution to dance in America. Along with all of these accomplishments his acting career includes “STALAG 17” with John Barrymore Jr.
<strong>Monica Adjeleian</strong>

Monica has been teaching in the Ottawa area since 1980. Before opening the Canadian School of Dance in 1986, Monica performed with the Ottawa Dance Theatre, Ontario Ballet Theatre and in the Canadian Opera Company’s production of ‘The Merry Widow” and “Rinaldo” with Marilyn Horne. Monica’s formal dance training was with the National Ballet School, The Canadian School of Ballet, and the Canadian College of Dance at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. Monica attended summer schools at Les Grands Ballet Canadienne and the Banff School of Fine Arts. Ms.Adjeleian has been enjoying judging and her school has won many accolades over the last 17 years of competitions.
<strong>Dave Campbell</strong>

Dave is thrilled to spend some time with the next generation of up and coming talent! Recent television choreography includes the Juno Awards where he worked with Tegan and Sara, rap artist Classified, Serena Ryder, and Walk off the Earth in a stunning fusion performance with The Red Robe Native Drummers of Winnipeg. Originally a musical theatre actor and dancer, Dave is now probably best known as a TV choreographer with well over 100 live broadcasts to his credit airing on every major Canadian Network. Canadian Idol, (six seasons) Radio Free Roscoe, Deal or no Deal, Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?, the 17th and 18th Gemini Awards and three Canada’s Walk of Fame Specials with stars including WWE’s Trish Stratus, Howie Mandel, Alice Cooper, Tom Cochrane, and the Tenors. He also appeared in front of the camera for 4 seasons as a regular on YTV’s top rated The Next Star.
<strong>Crystal Alves-Tusim</strong>

Crystal Alves-Tusim is a Canadian dance teacher, choreographer, adjudicator and producer.  Teaching and choreographing nationally for professional studios and vocal artists; Crystal travels extensively and continues to win many major dance awards.  Crystal has trained regularly in many areas such as gymnastics, figure skating, vocal, acting and dance. She pursued extensive training in dance, specializing in Tap, Jazz, Acrobatics, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern, Musical Theatre and Ballet.  Crystal’s performance credits include Paramount Canada’s Wonderland, Ontario Place, Sick Kids Telethon International T.V. Show, Miss Italia and Bikini Village Fashion Show. Crystal is thrilled to be a part of CanDance’s panel and wants to remind dancers to take a moment to pause and appreciate their special moments on stage this weekend.  Good luck dancers!  
<strong>Andrew Turteltaub</strong>

Andrew “Turtle” Turteltaub – Born and raised in Brooklyn NY, Andrew started his performing career at the early age of 17. He began dancing for Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida as a “Kid of the Kingdom” as well as a dancer in Beauty and the Beast. He then continued on to perform for Royal Caribbean, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in both NYC and Branson, Missouri, as well as numerous industrials, television commercials, movies and episodes of SNL. Andrew was also an original member of Mia Michael’s dance company R.A.W.(Reality At Work), and not long after that, he began performing for A Few Good Men Dancin. More of Andrew’s professional credits include: the national tour of FAME the Musical, the off–Broadway company of FAME on 42nd Street, A Chorus Line at the Lenape PAC, a featured role in Radio City’s workshop of Carnivale, and an original company member of the American premiere of WE WILL ROCK YOU in Las Vegas. Andrew’s most recent professional endeavor was playing the role of “Chistery” in the critically acclaimed musical, Wicked. Some Choreography credits include, FAME the Musical at Capitol Playhouse, Commercial’s for the Japanese Chocolate Company GLICO, TROJAN brand company, & TENA products. As well as a Bud Light Super Bowl commercial. Workshop of “Caty Bridgewater” a new musical, music and lyrics by Bobby Cronin. Break Out In Song “Anything Goes” Starring Katie Thompson NYC & CT. Fame the Musical in Macua China. Associate Directing & Choreography for Hairspray, Forever Plaid, Smokey Joe’s Café, A Chorus Line, Dance Break, Sweet Charity workshop NYC , Carnivale workshop Radio City Music Hall, Orpheus NYC Opera. Even before his professional career as a dancer began, Andrew had already made great strides as a dance educator and choreographer. From age 15, teaching class and creating choreography at his home studio, Horizons in Dance was a natural progression in Andrew’s dance life. His award winning and nationally recognized choreography can be seen showcased throughout the country as well as in Canada at many local dance studios, dance companies and college dance teams. Andrew has a lot to offer in his class besides his dance education and knowledge. He strides to inspire, educate, create unique movement, and make the experience of his class positive and uplifting. Being born and raised in NY has given Andrew a dynamic and eclectic eye for dance. His style of choreography represents openness for constant growth and self-discovery.
<strong>Angela Prosser</strong>
Angela ProsserCandance Adjudicator
Angela is currently the owner and Artistic Director of Hoofers Performing Arts in Oshawa and has 30+ years of teaching experience. With accreditation in the A.D.A.P.T. Tap and Jazz curriculum and certification with Dance Masters of America, Angela is highly respected amongst her peers in the dance profession. As a former choreographer her work has been recognized and awarded many overall high scoring awards and scholarships allowing students to expand on their training and knowledge base outside of their home studios. As a teacher she is most proud of the accomplishments her students have achieved in their careers. Dance is not about what you can become but what you can share with others and take pride in watching them reach for their dreams! Her love for both dance and children is infectious and encourages a strong sense of self-esteem and team building in others. Angela continues to teach and share her passion and enthusiasm for dance!
<strong>Jean Neveu</strong>

Jean is an accomplished dance educator who has been teaching for over 30 years, molding students of all ages in North America in the art of dance.  He is a graduate of the ADAPT (Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers) TTS program and a full member with the BATD (British Association Teachers of Dance). As a former student of Toronto’s Ryerson University Theater Dance Program, he had the opportunity to train under the tutelage of Nadia Potts, Karen Duplisea, Stelio Calagias and Vicki St-Denys.  During that period he performed for many choreographers such as Danny Grossman, Timothy Spain, Vicki St Denys to name a few.

Upon his return to Ottawa, he has taught dance in many elementary and secondary schools as well as many studios in the Ottawa and surrounding area.  He then continued his training in contemporary dance with Le Groupe de la Place Royale under the direction of Peter Boneham, where he performed for such choreographers as Yvonne Coutts, Susie Burpee, Meaghan O’Shea and Anik Bouvrette.  Some of his performing accomplishments include television shows and such venues as ‘The Canada Dance Festival’, ‘Dance Advance’, ‘The National Art Centre’ to name a few.

Jean is an accomplished choreographer, dance educator and ADAPT examiner that continues to pass on his knowledge and love of dance to all of his students and continues to enrich is versatile repertoire through workshops, conventions and seminars throughout Canada and the United States.  Jean is very honoured to be part of the adjudicating panel for “CanDance” and wishes all of the dancers the best of luck this weekend.

As a singer, dancer, choreographer, teacher, and voice over and recording artist Maureen Brown has performed in theatre, television, radio, videos, and concerts in the United States and around the world. Maureen is an annual performer/vocalist at the annual Dr. Mehmet Oz’s Health Corps Gala held in NYC. She is honoured to sing at the yearly Christmas Gala for The US Marines/ NYC Toys For Tots Gala in NYC. Maureen’s television credits include singing with opera celebrity Paul Potts (winner of England’s Britain’s Got Talent) on Fox & Friends, NBC’s The Today Show, and New York WPIX-TV Channel 11. She has performed on the MTV Awards, Billboard Awards, Cosby Show, Arsenio Hall Show, Dave Chapelle Show, and All My Children’s 35th Anniversary. Maureen’s teaching repertoire includes beginner through advanced levels of jazz, hip-hop, ballet, tap, lyrical, pointe, musical theatre, as well as specialty classes for technique, class and performance etiquette, stretch and flex, and jumps and turns. As a choreographer and teacher. Maureen’s proficiency in dance, voice and theatre, has earned her a reputation as a judge for Candance, Shine, American Dance Awards, Dynamite National Talent Competition, StarQuest International Talent Competition, Dance Masters of America, Showstoppers Talent Competition, On Stage America and Starbound.
<strong>Michael Taylor</strong>

Michael Taylor is celebrating over 30 years as a master teacher, giving seminars, setting original choreographic works and teaching dancers around the world in both the private and public sectors, in addition to college, university and fine arts programs. As a performer, some of his credits include: Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, serving as associate director and rehearsal choreographer for six years; River North Dance Company, AKASHA Dance Company The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, serving as an assistant choreographer for five years, as well as several theater, fashion and industrial credits to his name, including Papermill Playhouse’s Funny Girl, and Disney’s Magical Moments in Chicago and Rome, Italy. Recently, Michael proudly served as a director and rehearsal choreographer for Royal Caribbean Entertainment, also providing service in the audition and casting departments. Mr. Taylor has also taught and adjudicated for numerous internationally recognized dance organizations and institutions including American Dance Awards, Headliners, CanDance, Dance Masters of America, and Dance Educators of America.

Tammy is a native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her Dance Training has been with some of the greatest Teachers throughout North America in all facets of dance including Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Lyrical, Contemparay, Hip Hop and Acro.

Tammy owned and was the Artistic Director of Durham Dance Centre Inc. for twenty-one years. She is a graduate of Ryerson University where she majored in the Dance Program. Tammy is a fully certified member of The Royal Academy of Dance, A.D.A.P.T. and Dance Masters of America. She is the past President of Canadian Dance Masters of America and was the former Director for the Miss Teen Dance Masters of America Title Competition. Tammy has won numerous Overall Awards and Choreography Awards at the Regional and National Levels. Her Outstanding Choreography won the Can Dance Off Champions and numerous Diamond Choreography Awards for American Dance Awards. Tammy has also been proud to judge Dance Competitions throughout Canada and the United States. Her students have also won numerous titles and awards including The World Junior Male Tap Championship and The World Female Childs Tap Championship in Reis Germany in 2012 and also The National Title for Junior Miss Can – Dance in 2013.

Over the years Tammy’s students have been accepted at the summer programs of Quinte, Royal Winnipeg Ballet National Ballet of Canada and American Ballet Theatre. Her students were also accepted in the full-time programs at the Royal Winnipeg and National Ballet of Canada. Many of Tammy’s students have gone on to be professional dancers, dancing abroad on various cruise lines, performing in musicals, Tokyo Disney, music videos, sporting teams and carried their passion of dance on to opening their own Dance Studios.

Throughout Tammy’s career, she has always promoted an environment where you never stop learning in the field of dance, as it is an art that is continually evolving. She has always encouraged her dancers to be the best that they can be and has a reputation of bringing out the best in her students throughout her career.

Devon Perri
Devon PerriCandance Adjudicator
Devon is from Toronto and has been since a young age. He has had the opportunity in choreographing for such projects as The Toronto Film Festival as well the tap scenes in the movies; Honey, Universal Pictures and Save The Last Dance 2 MTV.
He’s appeared in music videos for such artists as: Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Timbaland, Snoop Dogg, K-OS, Mark Ballas and many more. Devon has also performed on TV and stage for shows such as: the Billboard Awards, the VMA’s, the BET Awards, DWTS, American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance and he danced on Chris Brown’s Carpe Diem Tour. He has also appeared in commercials for Marshall’s, Cali-Max, and Milk-Canada. He now resides in Chicago and is still teaching at studios and workshops across Canada and the U.S., passing on his skills to younger generations of dancers.
Stacy Boeddeker

Stacy has been committed to educating and inspiring dancers since the beginning of her career. Stacy is from Minneapolis, Minnesota where she trained at Larkin Dance Studio, Minnesota Dance Theater and Hopkins Ballet Academy. She moved to Los Angeles at 18 to continue her training. Shorty after arriving Stacy began assisting Dee Caspary where she traveled and toured with him across North America and Europe. The past 10 years she has been master teaching for conventions and intensives, choreographing for dance studios across the country, directing her own pre-professional dance school, Poetry In Motion Dance Company, from 2009-2013 and taking on the roll of head judge for In10sity Dance Competition. Stacy has been one of the top contemporary teachers from the U.S. invited to teach at The Jazzowego Intensive in Kielce, Poland for 6 years in a row. She’s also on faculty at The Edge Performing Arts Center in LA, The In10sive, Pacific Coast Dance Fest, Between the Lines, and Candance Convention in Canada. The past two years Stacy has successfully Co-Directed REFINED Dance Intensive in Covington Louisiana. She has invited top instructors in the industry to teach by her side. She loves sharing her art with not only her students but her peers. Stacy is also well versed in the commercial industry. She’s had the privilege to dance alongside Paula Abdul, Gloria Estefan, Amy Grant, the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, and Paramore to name a few. She has been featured in The Virgin America Airlines dance safety video, Microsoft Surface Commercial, Popeye’s Commercial, Target Commercials, and The Teen Choice Awards. Though Stacy is constantly setting work in both the professional and competitive realms of dance, the commitment to educate herself in the art of movement never subsides.
Sheri Drewitz-Kanten

Sheri Drewitz-Kanten is an award-winning dance teacher and choreographer who has been teaching all major dance disciplines for over 30 years. She is a Registered Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and has successfully put thousands of students through Graded and Vocational Ballet exams, as well as the Solo Seal Award. Sheri is also a Mentor for the RAD (CBTS) and was thrilled to be part of the pilot project for the brand new RAD Discovering Repertoire. In addition, Sheri is also certified in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBTS), ADAPT, CDTA and is an Apprentice for TKM Release Therapeutic Ball and Myofascial Strength Techniques. Known as an “inspirational teacher”, Sheri has helped create some of “the most well-rounded” and “best technically trained” dancers as recognized in several international competitions. Her talents and eye for detail make her a sought-after adjudicator, choreographer, and faculty member for workshops and summer schools including the collaboration with the Anchorage Ballet Company, Alaska, USA and World Ballet Art Grand Prix Winner of the Best Teacher Award 2016 Toronto. Sheri comes from a dancing family and has taught at several dance schools for many years in Southern Saskatchewan, including Assiniboia, Weyburn and Regina. She then moved to Calgary and taught 15 years at Drewitz Dance Productions. Sheri now enjoys free-lancing all over Canada and directing her own dance intensive called “To The Pointe” for the last 8 years. Sheri is very proud of her former students who have continued their passion for dance at many respected venues including: the National Ballet School of Canada, Royal Winnipeg School of Ballet, Ballet B.C., Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal, Tokyo Disney, Toronto Dance Theatre, AMDA, Visceral Dance, NYU, Savannah Ballet, The Source as well as many professional Broadway and Musical Theatre productions, film, television, various cruise lines and as Registered Dance Teachers in all disciplines.
Shelley Tookey

Shelley Tookey along with her husband Wayne, is the Artistic Director of Shelley’s Dance Company Ltd. She has been a dance teacher, educator, director and choreographer for the past 47 years. Shelley has three children, Stacey who has received three Emmy nominations for her work on SYTYCD, also she has worked on Dancing With The Stars, and has her own company “Still Motion”. Kevin retired most recently from his career as a dancer, teacher, choreographer and has started a company called “Spud Works” which is in the woodworking trade. Kelci has most recently received her Royal Academy of Dance Teaching Certificate and is currently teaching at SDC. Shelley prides herself with offering classes in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Improvisation in her state of the art studio in Edmonton, Alberta. Shelley’s students are very well known for their outstanding technique and versatility. Many of her students are dancing, teaching, directing and choreographing all over the world. Shelley enjoys a close connection with many of them. Shelley’s other passion is Musical Theatre. She has choreographed over 25 Musicals and will be choreographing “Anne of Green Gables” for Christmas 2016. Shelley’s greatest reward (like all dance teachers) has been to watch her young students develop into strong, responsible, confident people, ready to take on the world in whatever they do knowing their dance training has prepared them in so many ways. Shelley wishes all the competitors this week to have a positive learning experience both on stage and off.
Janie Richard

Born in Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada, Janie Richard began dancing at 3 years old. She received a professional training at the École Supérieure de Ballet Contemporain in Montreal. Currently she’s independent performer, choreographer and teacher internationally, she stay open and available for all opportunities. She worked with various international choreographers. This involves traveling in several tours in Europe, North and South America and USA. She works whit the company Avant Chamber Ballet in Dallas where she dance Walpurgisnacht ballet from George Balanchine. She also join Cas Public in Montreal who she has the chance to perform at the Paris Opera last March. Last August she had a chance to be part of the first English movie of Xavie Dolan “The death and life of J.F Donovan”. She also was invited as a principal guest dancer for The Intimate evening and for Sleeping Beauty with Syracuse City Ballet in NY last fall. She’s also principal dancer for Ballet Ouest of Montreal for the show “Couples”, Nutcracker and Pinocchio. From 2010 to 2013 she danced as a soloist whit the Atlantic Ballet-Theatre of Canada in Moncton, New-Brunswick. She danced the Grand Pas of Nutcracker for the Tikkiwake Dance Theater in St-John’s Newfoundland in December 2013. She was part of the distribution for the Nutcracker with the Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal in 2009 and 2008, as well as dancing for one season with ProArteDanza Dance Company in Toronto. Furthermore, she danced for one season with the Gran Canaria Ballet in Spain in 2008. She also teaches and choreographs around different dance schools in Montreal, Quebec city, Saguenay, New Brunswick and Newfoundland. She had the chance to do her first professional choreography “L’Inverno” for Avant Chamber Ballet in Dallas. This piece was also selected by a jury to be presented for the festivities of the 375th anniversary of the city of Montreal last September. From June 2013 to now she had the opportunity to be a judge for the several dance competition around Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick.
Janet Venn Jackson

Janet Venn-Jackson has enjoyed an extensive and successful performing, teaching and choreographic career, spanning over 35 years. She regularly adjudicates dance competitions, including CanDance, Fever Dance International and other dance events across North America, as well as attending dance workshops and conventions. She is also the Principal of the ADAPT Teacher’s Training Program in Canada. Janet has also contributed to, and edited, one of the major tap teaching encyclopedias in North America, which remains widely in use today. Ms. Venn Jackson is also a Professor and the Program Coordinator of the Music Theatre Performance Program at St. Lawrence College. Janet has choreographed for such major corporations as Quaker Oats and Mattel Toys and even a half time show for the NFL in a game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills. A professional dancer herself, Janet has performed in over 50 CBC, Global TV and live performances including the ACTRA Awards, Juno Awards and television specials and series. Ms. Venn Jackson has also choreographed many musical theatre productions including 42nd Street, Anything Goes, Kiss Me Kate, Les Misérables, West Side Story, Cabaret, and Crazy For You in 2014.
